Ford Model A Modern Front Crank Seal | 1928-1934 | A-6700-M
Upgrade your Model A engine with this Modern Front Crank Seal (A-6700-M), designed to replace the original two-piece rope packing used at the front of the engine.
Manufactured from durable modern neoprene, this seal offers significantly improved oil retention compared with the original packing design while requiring no machining or engine modifications. It installs with the lower half in the oil pan and the upper half in the timing gear cover, making it an ideal solution during engine rebuilds or front timing cover service.
This seal replaces the original B-6700-A packing and fits 1928-1934 Ford Model A four-cylinder engines, while also fitting many 1932-1953 Ford V8 engines. Installation requires the sealing lip to face the rear of the engine. For best performance, the crankshaft sealing surface should be smooth and unworn, burrs should be removed from the crank pulley before assembly, and the outside diameter of the seal should be bedded in silicone gasket sealant.
Whether you're chasing oil leaks during a restoration or building a more dependable touring engine, this upgraded front crank seal provides a simple and proven improvement over the original design.
