Ford Model A Light Switch Body | A-11655/67 | 1928-1931
Restore dependable headlight operation with this premium Light Switch Body (A-11655/67) for the 1928-1931 Ford Model A.
Mounted beneath the steering column, this light switch body accepts the Model A light switch wiring harness and controls the vehicle's lighting functions. Unlike many imported reproductions, this American-made unit has been manufactured using original Ford archive blueprints, providing superior fit, finish and reliability.
The switch features quality brass electrical contacts for long service life and a CAD-plated housing to closely replicate the original appearance while offering excellent corrosion resistance.
Installation Notes
During development, Snyder's found that many reproduction light switch wiring harness contact rings differ slightly from original Ford specifications. If your switch is difficult to rotate from the OFF position, the reproduction contact ring may have oversized detents. Carefully tapering the edge of the detent with a sharp knife or small rotary burr can significantly improve switch operation while retaining the flat contact surface.
Some reproduction contact rings are also manufactured thicker than original Ford specifications. Adding a slight taper to the outer edge of the plastic contact ring allows the lower switch cap to engage and rotate into position more easily.
When installing the switch body, ensure the retaining bail snaps into the body just beneath the wiring harness opening. The upper switch body should only lightly engage the bracket cut-out to prevent the switch rotating. In some cases, the bracket notch may require minor filing to achieve proper engagement.
