Demineralised water is a clear, colourless, and odourless purified water that has been refined by removing harmful mineral ions, salts, and other impurities such as calcium, magnesium, sodium, chloride, sulphate, nitrate, and bicarbonate, which can destabilise other chemicals with which it is combined. It is also referred to as deionized water and is used in OEM-approved coolant premix solutions.

Application
Demineralised Water can be mixed with engine coolants to produce the necessary concentration level. It is compatible with both Type A (Anti-freeze, anti-boil) and Type B (Inhibitor Only) coolants. It is compatible with all conventional type coolants, including OAT and hybrid type concentrations. It lowers mineral scale buildup and the risk of early cooling system corrosion. It also reduces the risk of a chemical interaction between the coolant, water, and the radiator materials.

Demineralised Water can be used as a direct top-up in cooling systems when the suitable coolant is unavailable, although this reduces the coolant concentration level and may affect coolant performance. If used as a top-up, it is advised that the coolant be filled to the proper concentration level.

Demineralised Water can also be utilised in lead acid batteries, as the reduction in mineral and salt ions contained in tank and tap water can significantly limit the lifespan of a lead-based battery. The effects of not utilising demineralised water include corrosion of the positive plate and mineral contaminates in the electrolyte solution, which can affect metallic components and result in a loss of performance.

Demineralised Water can be utilised in a variety of additional applications, including steam irons, aquariums, autoclaves, laboratories, laser cutting, and many more. It is also great for watering indoor and sensitive plants because it prevents mineral buildup in the soil.

Storage:

• Demineralised water can be stored in its original packaging for up to 24 months after manufacturing
